END OF NOVEMBER SNEAK PEEK
Hey! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was spent with friends at my apartment stuffing my face with delicious food and watching A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. I’ve been laying low this weekend due to a cold I’ve been fighting but did manage to go out and find some great items. All will be appearing soon (along with everything in the last post) in my etsy shop next month.

MEGA SNEAK PEEK!
This sneak peek is my biggest yet! I’ve been trying to organize my vintage room lately and been totally overwhelmed with all the items that I haven’t photographed yet. Going through most of my barware finds, it looks like I’ve raided Don Draper’s office. Luckily the sun was out today and I took full advantage. Here is just a tiny glimpse of what’s coming in my etsy shop this holiday season.

NOVEMBER SNEAK PEEKS!
It’s been above 60 degrees here in Buffalo for the past few days, which is CRAZY. I took advantage of the sunlight and snapped some pictures of a few items that will be appearing in my etsy shop soon. However, my photo shoot didn’t last long since I had to go out and enjoy the sunshine…

NO WIRE HANGERS, EVER!
Happy Halloween! Ok, ok, I’m a couple days late, but better late than never! I ended up going to two parties this year, so of course I had to have two different costumes. The first party was on the 30th and I had needed a quick costume, so I went through my closets and came up with this:

A representation of the grungy 90s! What screams grunge more than a flannel, baby doll dress, ripped tights, combat boots, and a little barrette than that?! Also that vintage hand beaded swan bag is one of my favorite finds. (and yes, my friend is dressed up as Daisy of Love…)
As for Halloween, I went as one of my favorite characters of all time, Mommie Dearest.

I had to get the wire hanger in every picture possible.
….and Halloween wouldn’t be complete without some tasty treats!

Old-Fashioned Soft Pumpkin Cookies (Halloweenified!)
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter (1 stick), softened
1 cup Pure Pumpkin
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
chocolate chips!
GLAZE: COMBINE 2 cups sifted powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons milk, 1 tablespoon melted butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in small bowl until smooth, (I added red food coloring for a bloody touch)
COMBINE flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in medium bowl. Beat sugar and butter in large mixer bowl until well blended. Beat in pumpkin, egg and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets. BAKE for 15 to 18 minutes or until edges are firm. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Drizzle Glaze over cookies.

yummy, yummy glaze!

BUSY BUSY BUSY
Hey, long time no see. This basically sums up my life right now.
I’ve been working my normal day job, (which is in front of a computer) and then I come home and continue working on album artwork for my friend’s band. Don’t even get me started about how nuts my apartment is right now. I’ve been living out of boxes and laundry baskets for two months now, BUT! now I have three chairs, a couple of tables, a cute love seat, and a lamp verrrrry similar to this one (most thrift/estate sale finds):

I’ve been looking for one (on the less pricey side) forever! Anyway, when I’m not at work, working on freelance projects, or (not) unpacking, I’ve managed to put a few small things in my etsy shop.

I know it’s small, but once everything calms down, I’ll be back in full force. Trust me, just because I haven’t been listing as frequently, doesn’t mean I haven’t been out searching. Check out the above items and more at www.rustbeltthreads.etsy.com

ALMOST BACK!
Hey everyone! I know I haven’t posted in forever, but I’ve been so busy. Here’s why:

This is just a tiny bit of my new apartment. I’m moving above two of my best friends who own the entire house. They have been awesome enough to give me a brand new bathroom, and on top of some other major updates, the option of painting my walls. (I’ve lived in 9 previous apartments before, and never had the option to paint….so I kinda went overboard. See above picture.)
Although I’ve been super busy working on my apartment and working back at my old job, I have had a little bit of time to do some much needed thriftin’. The pictures I took of all my finds are pretty sub par, but I couldn’t wait any longer…I just had to share my finds! Here is just a quick look at what is going to be appearing in my etsy store VERY soon!

I hope to be relisting in the next couple of weeks! Stay tuned! :D
